HAZ Class I Hazardous Waste injection well is used for the permanent disposal of liquid hazardous waste deep underground. These wells are designed to safely store hazardous materials permanently and prevent environmental and health hazards.

Hazardous waste disposal wells are subject to corrosion from the extremely acidic nature of the waste materials, often having pH <1, being injected underground.
